4-Alarm Fire Destroys Stockton Business

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Firefighters in are investigating a fire that destroyed a shop in Stockton Thursday night.

The four-alarm fire destroyed a business on S. Wilson Way and forced nearby evacuations.

The cause of the fire is under investigation; however, authorities are considering the possibility that there may have been a marijuana grow operation inside of the building.

Power had to be temporarily shut off in a four-block radius and four families living nearby were forced to evacuate.

"It was all over the place. Cars were exploding in there, the building was exploding…it was bad," said a witness.

"The whole building came down, so it was a series of events, like, 30 minutes long," said another person.

"There's a family right next to them that lives in one of the houses. I was more worried for them," said a Stockton man.

Fire crews were able to quickly get the flames under control, protecting nearby homes.

Fortunately, no one was hurt.
