3-Month-Old Baby Shot And Killed In Compton

COMPTON, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a 3-month-old baby has been shot in the face and killed in Compton, and they're seeking two men as suspects.

A Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Vincent Plair says the baby was hit by gunfire at about 7 p.m. Tuesday, and was rushed to a hospital where the child was declared dead.

Deputies are searching for two men who were spotted fleeing the scene.

The shooting occurred on a residential street in one of the more violent neighborhoods in the Los Angeles area.

It's not clear who may have been the target of the gunfire, and no further details were immediately released.
