Dixon Teacher Among 3 Killed In Fairfield Rollover Crash

FAIRFIELD (CBS13) – Three people are dead after an early morning crash in Fairfield, authorities say.

The accident happened on the North Texas Street off-ramp from Interstate 80.

Fairfield Fire Department crews were called to the scene just after 12:30 a.m. Sunday and found that a pickup truck had rolled over. Two people had to be extricated from the truck, crews say.

Authorities say two people from the truck were pronounced dead at the scene. A third person was later pronounced dead at a hospital, while a fourth person suffered major injuries.

Sunday afternoon, the Dixon Unified School District revealed that one of their teachers, C.A. Jacobs Middle School teacher Katie Anderson, was killed in the crash. Superintendent Brian Dolan said the school will be opening at 10 a.m. Monday to give the community a place to gather and remember Anderson.

The other victims of the crash have not been officially identified.

California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
