3 Arrested For 2013 Double Murder In Citrus Heights

CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) – After nearly a year of investigative work, Citrus Heights Police have arrested three people in connection to a double-murder.

The incident happened back on May 21, 2013 along the 6000 block of Birdcage Street. Officers found that two men – 29-year-old Enrique Tobias-De La Cruz and 41-year-old Gladis Quinteros Ramos – were shot to death.

After a 10 month joint investigation by Citrus Heights Police and the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department, detectives found that multiple members of a gang to be responsible for the shooting. Further, detectives found that the gang members were suspects in other shootings across Citrus Heights and North Highlands.

Police note the two victims in the Birdcage Street shooting were not a part of any gang.

Two young men and one young woman are under arrest on murder charges for the Birdcage Street shooting. Arrested were: 21-year-old Hayley Rogers, 19-year-old Alex Martinez Camacho and 21-year-old David Javier Jaimes.

Jaimes and Camacho face further charges for shootings along Walerga Road, Elk Horn Boulevard, and Auburn Boulevard. Three others were arrested in connection to those shootings.

Detectives are still trying to find those responsible for shootings that claimed the life of a 10-year-old girl and the attempted murder of 10-year-old boy – all shootings that took place around the same time period.
