2nd Suspect Arrested In Connection To Murder Of Vacaville High Student

VACAVILLE (CBS13) – A second suspect has been arrested in connection to the murder of a Vacaville High School student, police say.

Alijondro Edward Jones, a 20-year-old Vacaville resident, was arrested back on Oct. 30 for the murder of 18-year-old Demetrious Ward. Monday, Vacaville Police say they arrested 18-year-old Kai Hughes after detectives determined she was involved.

Detectives say that Hughes schemed with Jones to rob Ward during a drug deal. It was during the Oct. 6 robbery attempt that Ward was fatally shot in the head, according to detectives.

Hughes was arrested in Citrus Heights Monday night and has been booked into Solano County Jail. She is facing a charge of murder.

Jones, who is still in custody at Solano County Jail, is facing murder, attempted robbery and probation violation charges.
