2 Women Injured After ATV Rolls Down Ravine Near Cool

COOL (CBS13) - Authorities say two women are in the hospital after an ATV accident along the Auburn Lake Trails.

California Highway Patrol's Placerville division says their air unit responded to the Cool area after a reported crash. At the scene, rescuers discovered that an ATV had rolled down a steep dirt ravine.

Three people were onboard the ATV, a man and two women.

A 52-year-old woman was airlifted from the scene. She suffered a fractured leg and ribs, plus a concussion. The other woman, who is 54-years-old, suffered lacerations to her head and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The man, who CHP says was driving the ATV, escaped uninjured.

It is not clear why the ATV rolled.
