2 People Arrested Following Stolen Vehicle Chase In Lodi

LODI (CBS13) - Police in Lodi arrested a man Wednesday morning on charges of stealing a vehicle and resisting arrest.

Just after midnight, an officer reportedly spotted a stolen vehicle in the area of Lloyd Street and Hale Road. The driver apparently noticed the officer and sped off, turning into an alley where he reportedly jumped out of the vehicle, while it was still moving, and ran away. He was found a little later hiding in a nearby car dealership and was taken into custody, according to a Lodi Police Department statement.

The driver has been identified as 14-year-old Edward Vaccerazza. He was booked into Lodi City Jail on charges of auto theft, possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting arrest.

The passenger was also arrested on charges of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Their identity has not been released.
