1 Person Dead, 1 Injured After Shooting At Apartments In Citrus Heights

CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) - One person was found dead of a gunshot wound in a Citrus Heights apartment parking lot early on Monday morning.

The incident happened just before 2 a.m. at the Creekside Colony apartments along Kingswood Drive and Sunrise Boulevard.

Police arrived at the parking lot of the complex and found a vehicle with multiple bullet holes. The body of the victim was inside.

"We're asking that any information that the public has to contact the police department. We are still looking for other witnesses -- if there are any who happened to see or hear anything," said Citrus Heights Police Department Detective Wesley Herman.

A second person with a gunshot wound was taken to the hospital.

A third person who was reportedly involved in the incident was questioned by police.
