1 in 10 California Flu Deaths Come From Sacramento County

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - California health officials say 95 people have died from the flu this season, double the number from a week ago.

The latest figures were released Friday and point to the severity of the flu season, which typically peaks in February or March.

Sacramento County recorded 10 flu deaths, the most of any county.

An additional 51 deaths around the state are under investigation.

The state only counts flu-related deaths among people younger than 65. Last year, the state recorded 106 flu deaths.

Health officials say there's vaccine left and urge people to get immunized.
