1 Dead, 3 At Hospital After I-5 Crash; Man Suspected Of DUI

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A man has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a crash that killed one person early Friday morning.

The scene is on northbound Interstate 5 near the 43rd Street off-ramp.

According to California Highway Patrol, six cars were involved. One person was killed in the crash.

One person, the driver of the white sedan that allegedly caused the chain reaction crash, was arrested at the scene. CHP says he is facing felony DUI charges.

CHP says two people tried to run from the scene.

Three people have been hospitalized due to the crash.

Lanes on northbound I-5 were closed since the crash, but all lanes were reopened just after 7 a.m.
