Young Pirates Fan's Wish To Meet Andrew McCutchen Comes True

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- It was a dream come true for one of the Pittsburgh Pirates' youngest fans.

The Pirates and star center fielder Andrew McCutchen recently teamed up with Make-A-Wish for SportsCenter's "My Wish" series.

Sean Campbell, 10, of Leonardtown, Maryland, is one of McCutchen's biggest fans. His dad is a Pittsburgh native and still loves his hometown team.

Sean was born with a heart ailment, called hypoplastic left heart syndrome, as well has other complications that makes it difficult for him to play certain sports.

He had a pacemaker put in when he was just 5-years-old.

But with all the odds against him, Sean hasn't given up or slowed down. He plays baseball, loves the game and has always wanted to meet the Pirates' star player.

So, McCutchen surprised Sean one day recently and invited him to take a tour of PNC Park and play some catch.

In addition to warming up with the team and meeting manager Clint Hurdle, Sean got to throw out the first pitch. Sean and Cutch also played some video games on the ballpark Jumbotron.

Sean's "My Wish" story aired on ESPN Wednesday.
