AMBRIDGE (AP) - A worker was hospitalized after his leg was crushed by a piece of pipe at a Beaver County steel plant.

Emergency officials tell the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette the worker was injured early Friday at Sippel Steel's structural steel fabricating plant in Ambridge.

He was transported to a Pittsburgh hospital. His condition was not immediately available.

Sippel Steel did not immediately comment to the newspaper.
