1 Killed In Fayette County Shooting, Suspect Arrested

NORTH UNION TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A man was arrested Thursday after allegedly fatally shooting a man in Fayette County.

It happened just after 11 a.m. outside the 400 block of Woodview Terrace in North Union Township.

State police say troopers were sent to Woodview Terrace for a report that a man had been shot in the chest. The victim was transported to Uniontown Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Jarod Jamon Ashburn.

According to state police, 22-year-old Toney Robert Jones fired one round from a firearm, striking Ashburn. The shooting was caught on video surveillance. Witnesses were also present at the time of the shooting.

Troopers found Jones in a Woodview Terrace apartment and took him into custody without incident.
