Woman Who Sued Over Amputation Now Facing Drug Charges

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Amy Needham, 35, of Ross Township, is facing drug possession charges after police say she was found unconscious in the bathroom of a West View drug store.

She allegedly overdosed on suspected heroin.

Drugs and needles were reportedly found next to her.

Needham previously filed a lawsuit against Allegheny County, claiming she was the victim of excessive police force when she was arrested last April.

She also claimed she was later neglected by medical staff when she was in the Allegheny County Jail.

She later had an arm amputated.

She is seeking $75,000 in damages.
