Woman Taken To Hospital After Oxygen Tank Explosion In Coraopolis

PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) — A woman was hurt in an explosion in Coraopolis Sunday night.

An oxygen tank inside a house on 4th Avenue blew up around 10 p.m.

Firefighters say the woman was smoking.

Coraopolis Fire Chief Larry Byrge tells the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that a 59-year-old woman was severely burned and her 60-year-old husband burned his hands while trying to help her. There's no word on their conditions.

There was no fire reported inside the house.
