Woman Injured In Suicide Pact With Husband Dies In Hospital

ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A woman has died from injuries sustained during an alleged suicide pact with her husband.

According to police, Wilma Friday, 82, and Edward Friday, 80, were found lying in their apartment on Cedar Hills Boulevard in Rostraver Township Saturday evening.

Wilma was found in a pool of blood and was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Police believe she attempted to slit her own throat, and when she failed, her husband tried to help her.

Wilma died of her injuries Wednesday morning.

Police said Edward took 20 OxyContin pills and was found with cuts to his wrist. He remains in remains in the Mon Valley Medical Center recovering from his injuries.

Because he assisted his wife in her suicide, police are conducting this as a homicide investigation.

Edward told police he and his wife had a suicide pact. No charges have been filed at this time.
