Woman Gets Dying Wish To Take Family To Disney World
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A family is on its way to Disney World thanks to the generosity of a local organization.
Jhanay Harber, 28, has stage four breast cancer. Since her diagnosis, it's spread to her spine, lungs and brain, without any hope of recovery.
All she wanted though, was to be able to take her family to Disney World and spend a little extra time with them.
She's on her way to the magic kingdom with her mother, fiancé and two young sons – they'll be meeting 17 members of their extended family at a house near Disney World for five days.
Harber also plans to wed her longtime boyfriend at Disney World.
It's all happening thanks to a local organization called Jamie's Dream Team.
There's also a fundraiser taking place Friday for Harber at the Institute of Medical Careers. You can pay $10 or $20 for a 15- or 30-minute massage and all proceeds will go to Harber and her family.
The Institute of Medical Careers is located at 133 Jefferson Road in Penn Hills. The fundraiser will take place between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
