Woman Drowns In Beaver River

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A woman drowned in the Beaver River Saturday.

Saturday afternoon a river rescue search was underway for a woman in the river, near the 48th Street area.

Fire crews say 29-year-old Pheran Hoschar was about 30 feet from shore when she went under the water and drowned.

The area she was swimming in is known as Wallace Run. It's a shallow area that drops suddenly.
