Woman Arrested After Trying To Take Gun From State Trooper

NORTH APOLLO (KDKA) -- A woman is in jail after she attempted to take a gun from a state trooper at a North Apollo home early Tuesday morning.

The incident happened just after 12:30 a.m. at a home on Cochran Avenue in North Apollo.

According to state police, troopers arrived at the home to conduct a welfare check on 40-year-old Angela Marie Shaffer-Bizon. When the troopers entered the home, Shaffer-Bizon became "combative," state police say, and disregarded verbal commands from the troopers.

State police say Shaffer-Bizon then shoved a trooper and tried to take his firearm from his holster.

She was taken into custody and sent to the Armstrong County Jail.
