Woman Arrested After Allegedly Punching 11-Year-Old Son In Face

NEW BRIGHTON (KDKA) – A Beaver County woman is facing charges after allegedly punching her 11-year-old son in the face.

According to the criminal complaint, the incident happened on May 28, at a home on 14th Street in New Brighton.

The child's father reported the incident to New Brighton Police in person after receiving a concerning phone call from his son.

The report states the boy asked his father to come get him because his mother, 39-year-old Tanya Jones, was hurting him.

Officers spoke with the father and son at the New Brighton Police Department. Police noticed the boy's left eye was swollen and discolored and that his right arm was bruised.

The boy claims Jones started to slap him during an argument over dinner with his four siblings. He also claims his siblings held him down while Jones punched him with a closed fist.

Jones was then arrested and is facing a list of charges including simple assault, harassment.
