Woman Accused Of Robbing Bank Apologizes, Says "There Are Better Alternatives"

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A woman accused of trying to rob a bank in Bellevue, by claiming to have a bomb, was held for court on Thursday morning.

Brandy Greulich was in court for a preliminary hearing. Police say she told a drive-through teller at the PNC Bank in Bellevue that she had a bomb and wanted $40,000.

Nearby businesses were evacuated and Bellevue Elementary was put on lockdown during the incident.

At the time, police said Greulich said she was being forced to rob the bank. Investigators say she later told them she was a single mother who had recently lost her job. "Desperation," said Greulich.

Today, Greulich apologized for her actions.

"Anybody who's thinking of doing anything like this, there are better alternatives," says Greulich. "If I could take it back and change it, and pick one of those better alternatives, I would ... I'm so sorry."

Greulich also talked about the court proceedings.

"It's embarrassing. It's a waste of everybody's time, money. It's embarrassing," she said.
