Woman Accused Of Aiding Boyfriend's Suicide To Stand Trial

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Prosecutors say a Pennsylvania woman told her boyfriend, "Go ahead do it," before he put a loaded gun to his head and pulled the trigger.
The Observer-Reporter reports 34-year-old Brandi Stallard was ordered to stand trial Thursday on charges of aiding suicide, which is a felony. Her boyfriend, 58-year-old Kent Armstrong, died at their Crucible home in October.
Police say the couple had argued about infidelity before he grabbed the gun. Authorities say Stallard told officers she laughed as Armstrong loaded the weapon.
Stallard's public defender argued Thursday the woman "had no reason to believe" Armstrong would kill himself.
A Massachusetts woman was convicted in June 2017 for sending text messages urging her boyfriend to kill himself before he did so. She is serving a 15-month jail sentence.
