Wind Causes Damage In Multiple Counties, Knocks Out Power

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Wind caused some damage to the Pittsburgh area Tuesday afternoon.

There was some damage in Fox Chapel and a number of other locations.

In Etna, wind appeared to knock over a large tree onto a home, causing some damage.

The wind also reportedly knocked out power in some areas.

Traffic lights between the West End Circle and Station Square along West Carson Street were out.

At one point, West Penn Power reported that more than 4,000 customers were without power in Allegheny, Fayette, Washington and Westmoreland counties. Now the number is down to under 2,000.

Duquesne Light reports that about more than 300 customers are still without power in the North Hills, Beaver County and Fox Chapel area. They expect customers to have their power restored around midnight.
