Will Allen: Steelers Are More Focused Now

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Steelers safety Will Allen joined "The Fan Morning Show" on Tuesday, following his team's big 33-20 win against the Bengals.

Allen said he's moved on from Sunday's rough-and-tumble affair in Cincinnati, which some players on both teams are still riled up about.

"I'm not even worried about it," Allen said. "We're on to Denver now this week. Cincinnati, that was last week. We've got a new challenge ahead of us, and that's stopping the Denver Broncos."

Allen thinks that challenge will require the Steelers to focus on both dimensions of the Broncos' offense, whether it's Peyton Manning or Brock Osweiler leading the way.

"I think both of those guys are really good," Allen said. "You look at Peyton Manning, who's been consistent and one of the greats of our game. And Osweiler, he's been playing well. He beat the New England Patriots. They have a great running game, and they have some good receivers, so I think we've got to take notice of their running game, especially, because that's what helped them beat New England."

Allen said the Steelers aren't too worried about how the competition is stacking up in the AFC down the stretch.

"We concentrate on details and execution," Allen said. "You do that in practice. You do that one game at a time. That's going to get us where we need to go. We can't look ahead. Denver's next on the schedule, and that's all I see, that's all I know. Executing at a high level."

Allen feels that the Steelers lacked that intense focus earlier this season.

"I think that's what kind of hurt us early in the year, is that our execution wasn't as specific and detailed as we needed it to be," Allen said. "And now that we're doing that, everybody as a collective group, the results are very good for us. It's winning as a result, instead of having an average game. And I think the more consistent [we get], the more we can build on that, it'll take us where we need to be."
