Who Is The Steelers' Worst 1st Round Draft Pick Since 1990?

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - With the NFL Draft taking place later this month, CBSSports.com NFL Writer Will Brinson is taking a look at each teams worst first-round draft pick since 1990.

According to Brinson, the worst first-round pick for the Steelers goes all the way back to 1991 when the team selected linebacker Huey Richardson 15th overall.

Richardson played just five games for the Steelers in 1991, recording three total tackles and was then traded the following season when Bill Cowher replaced Hall of Famer Chuck Noll.

Despite being a first round pick, the Steelers were only about to get a 7th-round draft pick in return for Richardson from the Washington Redskins.

Fortunately for current Steelers General Manager, this selection was made by then GM Tom Donahoe.

Some other notable busts across the league include Ryan Leaf and JaMarcus Russell.
