Police: Man Stabbed In Whitaker, Suspect Appears To Also Stab Himself

WHITAKER, Pa. (KDKA) - Police are trying to figure out why a man stabbed another man then apparently stabbed himself during an incident in Whitaker.

Allegheny County police say the Whitaker Police requested help responding to a stabbing in the 100 block of Whitaker Street.

According to police, the victim and his employee were on the street when a Whitaker Borough Public Works truck stopped, the passenger allegedly confronting the employee and starting an argument.

The victim stepped in between the two, and then police say the suspect got out a knife and cut the victim's neck. The suspect then got into the truck and allegedly fled the scene.

Police say the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The evidence suggests that at some time after leaving the scene, the victim stabbed himself in his own arm, police say. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

At this time, motives are unclear.
