What Is Going on In Ukraine? Does It Need Intervention?

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - Dave Hughes spent some time in Ukraine working with the Peace Corps. He got to know and understand the country and people, so when the protest happened, he was surprised how fast it spread.

Since Viktor Yanukovich, the former president of Ukraine, has fled, the people are trying to rebuild. The only downside is that Russia has been trying to intervene.

On Friday night, President Obama warned Russia that there will be consequences if they enter Ukraine.

Hughes believes that someone needs to step in and take a stronger stance against Russia. NATO or peacekeeping troops should be placed in Crimea to keep out an invasion instead of using force.
