Witnesses told police the 21-year-old from Delmont, identified by the coroner as Michael Signore, was driving his Chevy Equinox southbound when for some reason he swerved into the northbound lane and hit a pick-up truck head-on. Signore wasn't wearing his seat belt, the coroner said.

The 62-year-old driver of the truck was hurt but is expected to be okay.

Two medical helicopters were put on standby after the crash, emergency dispatchers said.

The road shut down in both directions between Kistler Drive to Turack Road and Mamon Drive to Pfeffer Road, but emergency officials said it reopened around 12:30 p.m.
