Westmoreland County Man Accused Of Kicking Dog, Leading To Amputation

HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - A Westmoreland County man faces charges for allegedly kicking a dog.

State police say the incident happened back in October at a house on Newark Street in Hempfield Township.

Zachary Gannon, 21, is accused of kicking an 8-month-old boxer in the right rear leg. That leg eventually had to be amputated due to the damage done by the kick.

The dog belonged to a woman who lived at the home on Newark Street.

Gannon faces animal cruelty charges.
