Weekend Weather To Start Mild, End With Storm

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Be sure to soak up the milder weather Saturday, because a big storm's expected to roll through Sunday.

As of early Saturday, it appears the storm will travel further south than originally expected, bringing 6 to 12 inches of snow to areas south of Interstate 70 starting Sunday night.

In the city, we're expected to get closer to 3 to 6 inches.

And areas north of I-80 are no longer under a storm watch.

Saturday will continue to be mostly dry, with some precipitation later in the day – including possible snow before midnight, but it will only be a thin coating.

"As the day goes on, the atmosphere will become increasingly more and more saturated," KDKA's Jon Burnett said. "We will see a mixed bag."

But prepared for a deep freeze starting Sunday morning though, and continuing through Tuesday. Monday could drop as low as -1 degrees.
