Weekend Events Cause North Shore Traffic Jams

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – As predicted, there were some major traffic delays Saturday.

Between the Pitt-Delaware football game, the Pirates and Rib Fest, more than 90,000 people were on the North Shore.

Drivers were at a complete stop on the Parkway Saturday afternoon, in bumper-to-bumper traffic trying to get into the city.

The Pitt and Pirates games overlapped today, which officials thought would cause parking problems, but none were reported.

If you're planning on heading to Rib Fest or the game tomorrow, parking and traffic aren't expected to be as bad.

Country music singer Maggie Rose was also scheduled to perform at Rib Fest Saturday night, but had to cancel due to illness.

Pittsburgh band "The Stickers" will perform instead.
