Wecht Takes Stand In Trial Of Escaped Inmate Accused Of Murder

KITTANNING (KDKA) - The trial continued Wednesday for Robert Crissman, the man accused of strangling a woman after he escaped from the Armstrong County Jail.

Forensic pathologist and former Allegheny County Coroner Dr. Cyril Wecht took the stand Wednesday afternoon.

He told the jury how the victim, Tammy Long, was killed last year.

"It was a very long shoelace that had encircled Ms. Long's neck twice in the front and on the sides and through a slip knot, once around the back," said Dr. Wecht.

DNA experts testified they found Long's blood on the shoelace, and also on a t-shirt found near the crime scene.
