Water Main Break In Shaler Township Sends Water Shooting Into Air For More Than 4 Hours

SHALER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) -- A water main break sent water into the air in Shaler Township for more than four hours.

The 20-inch break happened Thursday at West Pennview Avenue and Louann Street.
Police say the Hampton Shaler Water Authority worked for hours to shut the valves off. The water began spewing around 5:45 p.m.

There is a large water break on W. Pennview St. at Louann St. It is a 20 inch line and Hampton Shaler Water Authorities are working to shut the line down.

Police said three to four homes have at least 1 inch of water in the basement.
