Water Main Break Closes Road In Brighton Heights

BRIGHTON HEIGHTS (KDKA)-A water main break closed down a busy road in Brighton Heights.

The break happened on Woods Run Road near the intersection of McClure Avenue Wednesday around 2 p.m. and the water has been running down the street icing everything in its way.

Early Thursday morning, crews decided to close down a section of the road because it was icy and hazardous.

Woods Run Avenue is closed from Beaver Avenue to McClure Avenue until further notice.

Don's Diner is about a quarter of mile down the road, yet they are shut down until service is restored.

"We get a lot of people, a lot of businesses down the way. I've already had 25 calls for orders and I'm like, "Don't you people watch the news?" Marcie Kemler said.

Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority sent crews to the scene and they blocked off the street. There is no word when they will make repairs to the broken line.

It is unclear how many homes may be affected by this water main break.
