Water main break on McKnight Road causes lane restriction

A water main break shut down a lane on McKnight Road in the Pittsburgh area on Monday morning.

The break occurred late Sunday evening at the intersection of Johnanna Drive and Browns Lane, next to the Get-Go. Repairs to fix the water main break are underway in the northbound lanes just after Ross Park Mall.

The McDonald's and Shorkey car dealership, as well as 20 apartments, were still without water as of noon Monday. The West View Water Authority expects to have service back by 2 p.m.

The driving lanes of McKnight need to be repaired before it can reopen, and there is no word on whether that will be before the afternoon rush hour.

There was also no confirmation on when the McDonald's location would reopen.
