Washington Pike Crash Injures 2, Backs Up Traffic For Miles

COLLIER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - Traffic was backed up for miles and hours after police say the driver of a pickup truck plowed into a car on Washington Pike.

According to police, the crash happened around 7 a.m. in Collier Township.

Allegheny County homicide detectives were called to the scene. An eyewitness told investigators the driver of the pickup attempted to beat the light.

Both drivers were taken to local hospitals. The driver of the car is believed to be in critical condition.

The crash kept motorists at a standstill for hours during rush hour traffic.

So far, no charges have been filed and the accident is still under investigation.
