Was Gregory Polanco Close To A Long-Term Deal?

PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) -- Just a few weeks ago, the Pirates resigned third baseman Josh Harrison to a long-term deal.

Now, reports are surfacing that Gregory Polanco may have been close to inking a similar deal in the off-season.

Igor Mello of CBS Sports writes that the Pirates and Polanco came within $1 million of agreeing to terms on a seven-year contract before the start of the season.

The deal stalled over three team options that were said to be worth $11 to $13 million.
