Pittsburgh-area could see a few severe storms Sunday evening into Monday | First Alert Weather
Unseasonably warm air sticks around to end the weekend, with highs Saturday hitting the mid to upper 70s and 70s on the way again Sunday.
First Alert: Monday is a FAWD. May add Sunday overnight tomorrow if warranted.
Aware: Chance for a few strong storms after midnight Sunday into early Monday AM, then again through the day Monday.
This is around 15-20 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year. Sunday will bring a return of showers with even a bit of steadier rain into the afternoon. Late Sunday night, we're watching a system approaching from the west that could bring a few strong to severe storms across eastern Ohio, moving into the Pittsburgh region through the early hours of Monday.
The biggest threat would be storms with gusty, damaging winds. An isolated tornado and small hail are also possible on Monday.
The weather will quiet down on Tuesday and cool a bit as well before we warm up again late week.
That means mild air in place for the Pirates' home opener Friday afternoon at PNC Park, but we'll also be looking a an unsettled pattern which could bring several rounds of showers mid to late week.
