Consumer alert lifted following reinspection at Walnut Grill in Fox Chapel

CBS News Pittsburgh

A consumer alert that was issued for the The Walnut Grill in Fox Chapel last week has been lifted by the Allegheny County Health Department.

Late last week, the health department issued the alert, saying that an inspector found nearly a dozen dead mice and rodent droppings, according to a report.

The health department says that the restaurant was reinspected the following day with no high-risk violations and the alert was removed.

Kirk Vogel, co-owner of the Walnut Grill restaurants tells KDKA that his team acknowledged the recent citation, took the matter very seriously, and addressed the issue promptly and thoroughly

Vogel says the health and safety of guests and team members has been a top priority since the restaurant opened nearly 20 years ago.

Walnut Grill also has locations in Robinson, Washington and Wexford.
