W. Pa. Owner Of Tax Collection Business Charged

SOMERSET, Pa. (AP) - The owner of a western Pennsylvania tax collection business has been charged with stealing more than $65,000 from the area school district.

The Somerset Daily American reports that 50-year-old Deborah June Miller of Somerset was arraigned Friday. She was charged with felony counts of theft by failure to make required disposition of funds, theft by unlawful taking, and receiving stolen property.

Miller owns the Laurel Mountain Tax Collection business, and there was no answer at that phone number.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 30.
