Vehicle Bursts Into Flames In Fatal Highway Accident

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (AP) - A car burst into flames after an accident on a central Pennsylvania highway, and police say all occupants were killed.

State police say a Nissan Sentra hit a deer along Interstate 81 near Chambersburg early Monday morning and became disabled in the travel lane. It was rear-ended by a Chevy Trailblazer and pushed into the median, where it burst into flames.

Police say all occupants of the car were killed, but it remains unclear exactly how many were inside. The driver of the Chevy was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.

The southbound lanes of I-81 were closed for the morning rush but reopened late Monday morning.

The crash is under investigation.
