USA Today Hockey Writer Kevin Allen Handicaps Olympic Hockey Rosters

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - USA Today Hockey Writer Kevin Allen joined Starkey and Mueller earlier today on The FAN to discuss the final Olympic Hockey rosters and why he wasn't surprised that Penguins' winger Chris Kunitz made Team Canada.

"Crosby is such a great player, but he's also a little bit difficult to play with because of the way he plays the game and how he views the game," Allen said.  "Kunitz has no struggle in that regard, so to me it made perfect sense."

We also discussed with Allen how hard it is to judge the Russian roster because of how many players they have from the KHL.

"It's hard to evaluate the KHL players," Allen told the guys.

"It's easy for us to dismiss them as players that aren't worthy of playing in the NHL, but the money factor over there and the desire of Russian players to stay home" are key factors according to Allen.

Things wrapped up with Allen giving us his prediction for the medal round and who will come away with the gold, silver and bronze.
