Man accused of killing his wife in Uniontown found in Las Vegas at casino

UNIONTOWN, Pa. (KDKA) -- A man was arrested at a casino in Las Vegas in connection with the shooting death of his wife in Uniontown, police said.

Arthur Eugene Guty Jr., 55, was picked up by metropolitan police while having breakfast at the Mardi Gras Casino.

Twenty-six-year-old Nicole Zambrano was found dead from a gunshot wound Monday afternoon inside a home along Bierer Avenue. She had been missing since Dec. 24, 2023.

Officials questioned the woman's husband and said he didn't give officers accurate information.

"Through the course of the investigation, we received more tips, followed up on all of those. With the help of some forensic evidence and some technology, we were able to ascertain a search warrant for the home (Monday), where we found our victim deceased," said Uniontown Police Lt. Thomas Kolencik.

Investigators said she was found in a bedroom with a gunshot wound to the head. The gun, a .357 magnum revolver, was found in a separate room.

Guty had approximately $100,000 in cash on him, authorities said.

"It's an obvious homicide. And he was clearly not willing to come in to speak to us," said Fayette County District Attorney Mike Aubele. "He was on his way, we believe, out of the country, with a significant amount of cash and was going to try to avoid any responsibility for what happened here. So, I would say there's absolutely a level of callousness here."

Guty faces charges of criminal homicide and aggravated assault.
