Uber To Sell Self-Driving Cars To Local Startup Company

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Uber is planning to sell its self-driving car business to a Pittsburgh-based startup company, Aurora Innovation.

Both Uber and Aurora Innovation have been testing autonomous vehicles in Pittsburgh.

Uber's investment in self-driving technology has been in the billions and its self-driving unit employs around 1,200 people.

Aurora's CEO has said he is committed to creating and keeping jobs in Pittsburgh.
