Two Young Men Killed In Homewood Shooting

HOMEWOOD (KDKA) - Police are investigating after two young men were shot and killed early Monday morning.

Around 12:30 a.m., Zone 5 police got a report of shots fired from its ShotSpotter system in Homewood. The ShotSpotter system indicated that nine rounds had been fired into an apartment building in the 1000 block of Brushton Avenue.

When officers arrived at one of the apartments, they found two young men inside. Both of the men were dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

They have been identified as 21-year-old Tajour Embry and 19-year-old Shaquille Maynor.

"We really don't have any additional info," said Pittsburgh Police spokeswoman Sonya Toler. "Our officers are canvassing the neighborhood, talking to anyone who may have seen or heard anything. Hopefully, they will be willing to share that with our investigators."

Prior to this shooting, the ShotSpotter system detected shots fired on Bennett, Kelly and Idlewild Streets.

No victims were discovered in those cases and police aren't sure if they were related to this double murder.
