Police investigate possible stabbing in Rankin

RANKIN, Pa. (KDKA) - Police are now investigating a stabbing that left a man in critical condition. 

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, just before 2 a.m., state police informed Pittsburgh Police about a potential stabbing in the 200 block of North Shore Drive after troopers were called to an apartment in Rankin regarding a man who was stabbed. 

That man told state police that the stabbing happened outside of McFadden's on the North Shore during a fight with another man. 

Pittsburgh Police then located a trail of blood on the sidewalk and were able to see security footage that showed the man possibly being punched in the side of his stomach multiple times. 

The suspect then ran down the street, entered a vehicle, and fled. 

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition but ultimately upgraded to stable condition.
