Husband & Wife Killed After Car Crashes, Bursts Into Flames

WESTMORELAND COUNTY (KDKA) - A husband and wife were killed when their car crashed into a tree and burst into flames in Manor early Saturday morning.

The Westmoreland County Coroner identified Brenda Braden, 54, and Sean Braden, 49, of Manor Borough as the victims.

The single-car accident happened around 2 a.m. on Manor Harrison City Road.

Police say Brenda Braden was speeding when the car crashed into a tree, broke into pieces and exploded.

"When our first officer arrived on scene at 2:10 a.m. the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames," said Chief George Valmassoni with the Manor Borough Police Dept.

One witness says he is saddened by the accident and hopes it convinces drivers to slow down.

"Police try their best but people need to slow down on this road, there's a lot of families that live on this road, I have a 5-year-old little boy, other children live on this road. It's a main highway, but there's families and children that also live here," said witness Dave Deriggi.

Investigators are working to determine how and why the crash occurred.
