Two Injured In Route 28 Crash

HARRISON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Route 28 Friday afternoon.

The crash happened around 3:45 p.m. in Harrison Township.

According to state police, a Toyota Scion was headed south on Route 28 when the driver, 21-year-old Raymond Swiklinski of Tarentum, lost control, over-corrected and then crashed through a barrier.

The vehicle then hit a northbound Mercedes-Benz driven by 71-year-old Ronald Valasek of Lower Burrell, state police said.

Both drivers were taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital.

Swiklinski suffered minor injuries and Valasek suffered moderate injuries.

State police say they have cited Swiklinski for driving too fast for conditions.
