Turnpike Commission Retiree Charged For Child Porn

PITTSBURGH (AP) - A retired member of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has been charged by federal authorities in Pittsburgh with conspiring to create child pornography, and with sharing and receiving child pornography on his computer.

The defense attorney for 57-year-old John Longo, of Jeannette, did not immediately return a call for comment Thursday.

Longo surrendered and was arraigned on the charges which were returned under seal by a federal grand jury on March 5 and unsealed Wednesday.

The charges indicate he conspired with another unnamed person to create pornography involving a child whose age is not listed in the indictment, and with trafficking in pornography on his computer.

The incidents allegedly occurred from June 2009 until November 2010.

It was not immediately clear if Longo was still employed at that time, or if the allegations led to his retirement.
