Turkey Hill Dairy Issues Ice Cream Recall
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A packaging mix-up has prompted Turkey Hill Dairy to issue a recall for ice cream.
According to a press release, the company is recalling select 48-ounce containers of Dutch Chocolate Premium Ice Cream. The containers may contain Rocky Road ice cream instead.
Turkey Hill says "the cup of the affected package would read Dutch Chocolate Premium Ice Cream, and the package lid would read Rocky Road Premium Ice Cream."

- Container Size: 48 oz. (1.5 QTS - 1.42L)
- UPC Code: 20735-42095
- Sell-By Date: May 23, 2017 (Found printed on the bottom of the package)
The recalled ice cream would have been purchased after Sept. 8, and could have undeclared ingredients of almonds and eggs, which could cause problems for those with food allergies.
There have been no reporters of illnesses.
The recalled ice cream was sold in a number of states including, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland.
